Ryan’s Pickled Onions 🧅
Y’all have asked for this recipe many times, and I finally convinced @ryanbiegel to do a how-to video! I set up the tripod and you’ll see my camera work doesn’t really hold a candle to his 😂 Try these on sandwiches, tacos, salads, etc. I love having them in the fridge.
Ryan’s Pickled Onions

Yield: 2 cups
Ingredients
- 1 Red onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 cup Water
- 1/4 cup White vinegar
- 1/4 cup Apple cider
- 2 tablespoon Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Peppercorns
- 2 teaspoons Salt
Directions
- Place onions in a jar. Whisk the liquids with the sugar and salt until dissolved. Add peppercorns.
- Pour over onions, refrigerate a few hours. Keeps about 2 weeks. (You can also boil the liquid mixture then pour over the onions if you want them to have a little less “bite.”)
